Unlike general TLD's such as .com or .net. .IO domains must be set to auto-renew 10 days prior to expiration and renewal invoice should be paid accordingly. Otherwise, the domain will go into imminent delete status at the .iO registry and cannot be manually renewed. To recover a .iO domain from imminent delete status, we would need to recover the domain using normal RGP processes. Recovery of .IO domain from imminent delete status would cost $300 plus 1-year renewal fee.
